I have been reading a lot about Jawa cutting into Royal Enfield's domestic market share. Historically I don't think horsepower is a big concern in india, but that's probably changing with all the young money floating around.
My first thought was hot damn 30hp! Isn't the 650cc only putting down 47hp? Royal Enfield better get with it, or buy Jawa lol! Foreign sales won't keep the doors open.

Jawa IS making some nice bikes. I would like to see how honest Jawa is with their number's on a dyno chart. Drop another 30 % off of that 350 Bullet HP number they claim I bet.... If they are like the 500's. I wouldn't doubt 13 or 14 at the wheel on those 350's. I think 650's make pretty decent power though 47 hp... and the power band is BROAD. So probably more total HP across the range then other bike motors in that range. Ya figure as a comparison ? .... The old " superbike " of the 70's, a Honda CB750 , which I would imagine a lot of guys out there have ridden. Would do around 45-50 or so on a good day.... And not a slow bike. More then enough I think. And the Dyno charts that I have seen on the 650's , all look VERY close to that claimed 47 hp number. Which is a good thing think for RE to do. For honest comparisons to other bikes. If you look at the specs and claimed HP of other bikes out there, and then look for Dyno charts online. A lot of them come in pretty darn close to what is claimed.
But I can still see where Enfield is leaning more on their domestic market I think with the 650's. STILL has a relatively low compression ratio for a modern motor... to tolerate low octane fuels. We don't don't have that problem here. And the Cam timing has GOT to be very conservative to pick up that much torque down low early and be good on fuel. ...Very Enfieldy.

The Jawas are great looking bikes, the styling really floats my boat.
