Speedo Whacko

2011 Bullet B5. My speedo started running way high. At about 45 it started reading 90!
I removed my speedo cable, put it back in and lubed it. Test drove it. Same old 70 to 90 mph! Any ideas? Is the speedometer shot or what?

Check the drive on the hub, they are plastic and often crack. If the cable and drive are fine, the speedometer is probably toast.

I ordered a speedo from Royal Spares in Delhi. Their shipping has been pretty good.

Really. Most of the UCE speedos are KM meters! I just checked again. The one I'm getting is a MPH version. Mr. FedEx has taken it from Delhi and it's in transport. I hope it's not on a boat going to LA.

Yes, my retail friend. $20 is like a wholesale price!
I think I know why this was so cheap. Before bolting it in, I plugged it into the wiring buss. I had a light. OK.
Then, I switched the stock bulbs with BA9s from SuperBright LED. White for the face. Blue for high beam. Green for the Neutral. And another one for the flasher. BUT..... The turn signal was blue, and other mix ups. I changed the bulb base to where they are supposed to be. Green to Neutral, etc. On a test drive it worked fine.
The big nut around the cable connector is a 22mm.
