I have seen 101 and 102 listed as the number of links in a C5 drive chain. Anyone know which is correct? and does that include the master link? Thanks. And before you ask, I ordered one before I knew about this site.

The correct answer is 101, but (to my knowledge) aftermarket chains only come in even numbers so 102 and move the wheel back a smidge.

The C-5 takes a 530 -102 chain.... or at least that is what came on mine and the others that I have seen. The G-5 took a 530- 101 chain.. . the 101 having a half link on it to get that odd number. It came with a smaller 17 tooth front drive sprocket, because it had a larger 19" rear wheel. But, a 102 chain fits fine on a G-5 as well. The C-5 comes stock with an O ring chain. And I believe the G-5 did not originally ? ....

Thanks! I figure if I get the first one running I can order a good chain and pass the cheap one on to the next bike.

You're a week too late! OlBilford jumped on the chain deal of the year. If I would have known you were looking I would have saved it.

No worries. BTW... That stock O ring chain on the On the C-5 is very narrow for an O ring chain as I remember. And thinking back ?... I remember guys may have had clearance issues with after market O ring chains ? This may or may not be the case. I don't run O rings chains, so it wasn't a concern for me. Just a heads up here is all...

Dang, I do remember something about that. Perhaps that's why the G5 came stock with a standard chain? I've sold a lot of aftermarket O-ring chains, I would be surprised if it was an issue across all models.

Could also have just been a myth or an assumption based on nothing but speculation without trying it themselves? I don't know ? But yeah... Curious why no O ring chains came stock on the G's . Could also have just been a cost saving thing ? But can tell ya... with a none O ring chain, that drive line loss is less, then with a stiff running O ring chain. Like a string of pearls I tell ya. As long as you keep it lubed...

I put a non O-ring 102 chain on my 2015 C5 and it's working just fine. For the cost, if it wears out a little sooner, I'll just get another! ;)
